The strong domestic demand for automobiles, the shift of the global automobile market center to developing countries, and the increasing globalization of auto parts procurement have promoted China's overall automobile market as a pillar industry of China's industrial development. From 2007 to 2010, China's total crankshaft production was 4.77 million, 6.42 million, 26.33 million and 31 million, of which excluding single-cylinder engine crankshafts such as motorcycles, it still reached 4.5 million, 5.75 million, 10.32 million and 14 million.
The rapid growth of China's automobile industry has provided a broad market space for automotive crankshafts. In 2010, China's automobile production and sales were 18.2647 million and 18.0619 million, respectively, with year-on-year growth of 32.44% and 32.37%. Among them, the production and sales of passenger cars were 13.8971 million and 13.7578 million, with year-on-year increases of 33.83% and 33.17%; The production and sales of commercial vehicles were 4.3676 million and 4.3041 million, with year-on-year increases of 28.19% and 29.90%.
In 2010, the total engine production and sales of 16.995 million units and 17.025,900 units, an increase of 27.44% and 29.73% over the previous year. Among them, the total production and sales of diesel engines were 3,935,500 units and 3,992,700 units, an increase of 25.03% and 30.36% over the previous year, respectively, and the total sales of gasoline engines were 12,965,900 units and 13,025,200 units, a cumulative increase of 28.19% and 29.55% over the previous year. It is expected that China's engine market sales in 2011 will reach about 19.34 million units, an increase of about 13.63%. As the core component of the engine, the sales of crankshaft is closely related to the production and sales of the engine. The changes in engine production and sales volume reflect the changes in crankshaft market demand.
